In the news today: Ford has issued a press release stating that it has set an "aggressive new target": best-in-class initial quality for the compact cars it will launch in North America in 2010.
Well, okay, but this is newsworthy? Isn't the whole idea supposed to be that, since we're pulling a huge chunk of hard-earned money out of our pockets to pay for these things, every automaker should make every vehicle the very best possible example it can be?
